Landon Chronicles (1929): Siam: Mrs. Bulkley and Her Advice (hour 50, clip 6)
Date:
1929
Description:
Margaret tells about Mrs. Bulkley and her difficult background. Daughter of divorced parents (unsual for that time) she married Con Bulkley, a man who actually wasn't interested in her. She had a difficult marriage of forty year with seven children. She eventually divorced and lived alone the rest of her life. She gave Margaret two pieces of advice, one about caring for her eyes at wake up time in the morning, the other about hiring a servant. She said that Margaret should hire a Chinese servant if she finds a good one, even if she did not need one at the time, because the Chinese were the best. (Length 6:04)
