Historical Note: George Sayer was a student and close personal friend of C.S. Lewis. His accomplishments include heading the English department at Malvern College, Worcestershire and writing a highly regarded biography of Lewis entitled Jack (Wheaton, IL: Crossway, 1988), later published under the title Jack: A Life of C.S. Lewis (Wheaton, IL: Crossway, 1994) with a new afterward. He passed away in 2005, and his widow, Margaret, lives in England.
