Historical Note:

Anne Barbara Ridler (July 30, 1912-October 15, 2001) was a poetess, playwright, and editor. She worked at Faber and Faber under T.S. Eliot from 1935 to 1940. In 1938 she married Vivian Ridler, manager of Bunhill Press, London, and later Printer to Oxford University (1958–78). They had 2 daughters and 2 sons.

She corresponded with C.S. Lewis and was on the edge of the Inklings group in Oxford. Charles Williams was very important to her and she contributed to the following Williams-related works (all of which are at the Wade Center):
