Historical Note:

Onas Cudley Scandrette was born on a farm near Wessington Springs, South Dakota in 1915 and earned degrees from Seattle Pacific University, The University of Washington and Northern Colorado University. An educator, Scandrette taught students at every educational level from elementary to graduate school. He served as a professor of psychology at Wheaton College from 1958-1979. He also taught in the Education Department for one year, 1957-1958.

Dr. Scandrette published many articles for his profession and for his hobby of photography. He was an honorary life member of Central DuPage Camera Club. In 1962 he joined the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and became active in the Pictorial Print and Techniques Divisions. He wrote many articles for the PSA Journal on monochrome printing and other subjects; he prepared information sets for the Techniques Division instructional series. In 1982, he was named an Associate in PSA and in 1987 was elected a Fellow of the Society. Dr. Scandrette served as national Divisions Vice President in 1985-86.

Scandrette passed away January 12, 2005 at the home of his son in Fairfield, CA.
